Located on the northern shores of lake Victoria above the Ripon falls, the town is one of Uganda’s largest towns and lies about 80 km east of Kampala overlooking the point where the Nile flows out of Lake Victoria.

Day 1
One Day's activities

Today you will be picked up by your guide who will drive you to Jinja city. Established in 1907, Jinja is the second largest and busiest town in Uganda. En-route you will have a stopover at Mabira forest for a short nature where you will see a variety of bird and butterfly species.

Thereafter proceed to the Nile where you will have a boat ride to the Source. After lunch you will visit Itanda falls with the biggest rafts on the river, you will see how those who are rafting are able to safely conquer the most challenging rapids, watch the local fishermen and the fantastic bird life. The journey is not complete without a brief tour around Jinja town to have a look at the old beautiful colonial buildings and Jinja market.

You will then drive to Kampala.
